Marilyn’s Yum-Yum Brisket

Recipe courtesy of Cathy&John

1 beef brisket 4-5 lbs.
1 cup water
1 packet dry onion soup mix
1 cup beer (I prefer a lager or dark beer)
1/3 cup ketchup
Pepper

Pre-heat over to 325 degrees. Sprinkle brisket with pepper. Place in oven and let brisket brown slightly on top (10-15 minutes).
Pour onion soup mix into water. Mix well. Pour ketchup into beer. Mix well.
Then combine both mixtures together. Pour over brisket. Cover pan tightly with aluminum foil; place brisket in oven. Baste every ½ hour until brisket is fork tender. Takes approx. 3 to 4 hours. It’s worth the wait!!
